River Gypsies formed in January of 2008, when Mike Mahoney(Apraizal, How's Casney?) met Bjorn Andersen(Pooch Carver, Avernus) in Lake Villa, IL. The two were going through tough times and sought a way to express the raw emotions that were created by their dark pasts. The two found that their styles mixed to form something new, unique, and therapeutic!! Neither member was any good at singing, so when they got together with singer/ song-writer/ producer, Doug Smith( Pooch Carver, Palmetto, Avernus) amazing recordings began to appear! The three are currently in the process of getting recognition, playing magical performances and evolving as recording artists. Truly, music from the lost and beautiful, for the lost and beautiful. Enjoy!!!

Of The Wand & The Moon is the creative live and recorded music works of Danish musician Kim Larsen and various guest contributors. After irreconcilable differences with his previous musical project, Saturnus, Larsen began writing music of a different vein, similar in style to his neofolk influences but very different than the doom metal he had previously created.

Lost Basement Recordings has degenerated into this: Lonesome Wyatt and the Holy Spooks will release a 3 CD set on November 2nd called "Moldy Basement Tapes." These 39 songs were written between 1998-2000 and recorded on an old four track in Wyatts' parents' moldy basement.
Prepare for over two hours of strange, dusty music to hasten the end of another dying year.

One of the most anticipated albums of the year, for me, the number 1. This band NEVER fail to deliver, the mighty Agalloch. With something i can only use the word 'epic' to describe, and i ain't talking world of warcraft or internet troll EPICLULZZ, i'm talking mountains, lord of the rings, canyons...that kind of epic. Get it quick, whilst you can! It'll be down soon!

Sons Of Perdition are a gothic country band from Arkansas, similar to Those Poor Bastards.
After years of endless toil, I'm pleased to drop this slab of despair into your lap. May it break your spirit down like a tree that's soft with disease and rot, as it's done to me. Listen and lament, but never repent.
Psalms for the Spiritually Dead (2010)
"Hey chief,
I'm writing to ask that you remove the download of my album, "Psalms for the Spiritually Dead" from your page. I'd be honored if you'd keep a track or two up, if you wanted to do so. If not, that's your call.
I don't think you are, or are trying to, rip me or anybody else off. It's just that your page comes up really high on the list when Googling my album. This cuts into the cash I'm trying to raise to build my doomsday bunker. I'm sure you understand.
Your pal,
Zebulon Whatley
Sons of Perdition"
Dont you wish all artists were as chill and understanding as him. Link removed now but head on over to their myspace for a listen and to buy it!

The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black is the brainchild of artist and performer Kembra Pfahler, whose do-it-yourself ideals have shaped both the band’s sound and their iconic visual style, and from whose solo performance work and ‘Super 8’ films the group organically formed. The band originally was in fact initially conceived in an effort to soundtrack these early performances in a manner befitting their highly theatric nature.

The Unquiet Void is the electronic alter ego of Jason Wallach. Since 1989, he has created a unique style of synthesized ambiance that stirs the soul and stimulates the mind.
Working as a one-man electronic orchestra, Jason composes pieces of celestial ambiance. He has honed his stylings on numerous compilations, usually paying tribute to those artists that had influenced him over his decade long musical career. Covers of David Bowie, Lycia and Black Tape for a Blue Girl as well as original compositions have gained The Unquiet Void an international following of ethereal and ambient music fans.

Despite their style being firmly grounded in the dark metal genre, Agalloch has always been a band who prefers experimentation over settling on a niche. The result has been three full-lengths and a handful of EPs that have bridged the gap between gothic doom, black metal, neo-folk, post rock, and industrial/ambient soundscapes. The band has earned a rabid cult following over the years due in part to their artistic & independent attitude, elusive aura, and scarce but volatile live performances. Limited to 250 hand-numbered copies.
Released on the Vernal Equinox of March 2010. Disc 1: Tracks 1-3 taken from "From Which of This Oak" Tracks 4-6 taken from "Of Stone, Wind and Pillor" Tracks 7-8 taken from "Promo '98" Disc 2: Contains assorted works & rarities. The Compendium Archive (2010)

Stolen Babies are an American avant-garde metal band with significant influences from dark cabaret, signed to The End Records. Stolen Babies formed from a 12+ member high school performance troupe named the Fratellis; the band takes its name from one of the skits performed by the group during this period (written by Dominique Persi, who handled the theatrical and performance-art aspect of the group). Among the band's many musical influences are groups such as Oingo Boingo, Mr. Bungle, and Fishbone (whom Gil Sharone has performed with). Stolen Babies are known for their on-stage theatrics and energetic performances, filled with props and Gorey-esque backdrops, all made by the various members.

Chris from The Ciem Show sent me a mail. I love it when bands do that. *hint hint*We're called The Ciem Show and the release is called "Only To Exist In Dreams - Promo 2009". If this helps any, it's recommended for fans of Meshuggah, Devin Townsend, Arcturus, Ulver. I'd classify it as Progressive / Experimental Metal. Maybe Dark Progressive Metal? Hell I don't even know! Maybe you can come up with something based on how you think it sounds!
I think it sounds good. Do you need any other reasons to listen to it? To be honest I don't listen to the bands he mentioned, so any comparisons or similarities are lost on me, All i know is that this is a solid album well worth a listen!
