Evermore Darkly is an EP by the British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth, to be released in October 2011. A companion piece to the 2010 album Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, it contains two new tracks in "Transmission From Hell" and "Thank Your Lucky Scars", plus alternate versions of some Venus Aversa tracks. An orchestral version of "Summer Dying Fast" (a track from 1994's The Principle of Evil Made Flesh album, reworked previously for 2001's Bitter Suites to Succubi) is also included as a taster for the forthcoming Midnight in the Labyrinth collection.

With their new four-track EP Is This Hell? , the duo continues their domination of the gothic country sub-genre and while it isn’t the ideal place to begin your relationship with Those Poor Bastards (see Satan is Watching or Hellfire Hymns), this is nonetheless a great release that fans will really enjoy.

Ava Inferi have been around a few years, and the band members themselves have been around. The lead vocalist was part of the choir for Moonspell during the Night Eternal recording and tour, which makes plenty of sense seeing as both bands are from Portugal. Blasphemer makes another appearance this week (this makes the third band I've posted in a week with him in it), and his tones again greatly complement the atmosphere. But the music itself is a style of doom that mixes well with melodic and gothic overtones. Early works sound much 'doomier'.

Had forgotten how good this record was until I stumbled on it today. Definitely worth re-upping it. One of the most inspiring Gothic/Doom-y Rock/Metal albums around. Whatever is your genre of choice, I really suggest at the least listening to some songs of this album once.

As most people who listen to our music know, Pete Steele passed away last year just prior to a new recording. Just wanted to post this up here incase any of our readers want to help out:
http://www.thewickedstore.com/steele.php'
This memorial shirt is a collaboration between Wicked Threads and Peter Steele's family. Many have asked where the proceeds are going - the Ratajczyk family states, "proceeds will be used to offset all legal feels and expenses related to Peter Steele Ratajczyk". Thank you to everyone for keeping his memory alive.'
Sweet looking shirt, and it goes to help a good cause. I know I'm getting one for me and mine :)

The band was originally Bauhaus 1919 before theydroppedthe numerical portion within a year of formation. Lost Basement Recordings has degenerated into this: Lonesome Wyatt and the Holy Spooks will release a 3 CD set on November 2nd called "Moldy Basement Tapes." These 39 songs were written between 1998-2000 and recorded on an old four track in Wyatts' parents' moldy basement.
Prepare for over two hours of strange, dusty music to hasten the end of another dying year.

Cinema Strange is an American deathrock group based in Los Angeles, California. Their performances also incorporate film, dance, and visual art.
The California-based Cinema Strange Project made headlines around the world this past February when they completed a 1/20th scale model of Big Ben using toothpicks, fly legs, and fingernail clippings. The unpredictable ensemble commented, “We’ve played music in Europe a bunch of times, we’ve made films about zombies and dancing military men, and we made our last album like a story book. The Big Ben model was a logical next step.” The band is infamous in the North American gothic scene for their unique and theatrical stage shows, sometimes involving up to a dozen or more actors and performance artists.

Sons Of Perdition are a gothic country band from Arkansas, similar to Those Poor Bastards.
After years of endless toil, I'm pleased to drop this slab of despair into your lap. May it break your spirit down like a tree that's soft with disease and rot, as it's done to me. Listen and lament, but never repent.
Psalms for the Spiritually Dead (2010)
"Hey chief,
I'm writing to ask that you remove the download of my album, "Psalms for the Spiritually Dead" from your page. I'd be honored if you'd keep a track or two up, if you wanted to do so. If not, that's your call.
I don't think you are, or are trying to, rip me or anybody else off. It's just that your page comes up really high on the list when Googling my album. This cuts into the cash I'm trying to raise to build my doomsday bunker. I'm sure you understand.
Your pal,
Zebulon Whatley
Sons of Perdition"
Dont you wish all artists were as chill and understanding as him. Link removed now but head on over to their myspace for a listen and to buy it!

Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa is the ninth studio album by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. It will be released on November 1, 2010 by Peaceville Records. Earlier the album was erroneously referred to as All Hallows Eve, probably because the announced release date was close to Halloween.

So here's the latest single from Cradle of Filth. I'm a pretty big CoF fan and am aware of the negative comments and hate that they receive, but they've been doing what they do successfully for a long time, old CoF is some great music, this newer stuff not so much. Anyway this song isn't too bad, I'll be waiting for the november release of Darkly, Darkly Venus Aversa.

Here's a strange strange album. I've collected bits from various reviews to explain it better than I could. If you don't feel like reading the wall of text below be warned, this is not for everyone.
Evelyn Evelyn are a musical duo formed by Amanda Palmer (of The Dresden Dolls) and Jason Webley. According to the fictional backstory described by Palmer and Webley, the duo consists of two conjoined twin sisters, ("Eva" and "Lyn" aka) Evelyn and Evelyn Neville, who were discovered in 2007 by Palmer and Webley. The twins are actually portrayed by Palmer and Webley.
Webley and Palmer, conjoined-Martha Stewarts of the theatrically macabre, frame Evelyn and Evelyn's album through a series of spoken word segments, where the sisters recount their picaresque tale of woe—a tale that includes flying chickens, sexual abuse, societal marginalization, circus freaks, conjoined elephants, and social networking. Despite such obviously campy origins, the sisters' music often manages to rise above mere spectacle, their back-story flavoring oddball tracks such as "Chicken Man" and "Elephant Elephant" with surprising gravity, elevating the songs above mere musical curiosity.
If you haven't already gotten the impression, this album is eccentric. It isn't going to be for everyone, like Webley and Palmer's solo work. However, those who give this project the chance and time will appreciate it immensely.
In conclusion, Evelyn Evelyn is a fantastic collection of songs engineered by two very talented cult musicians. Those of us with a taste for theatricality, musicals, and songs that tell an unusual story will eat this album right up. Needless to say, Evelyn Evelyn is never going to achieve mainstream success, it will forever be a gem of the cult scene, and I for one would never have it any other way.
