Creedence Clearwater Revival (sometimes shortened to Creedence or CCR) was an American rock band that gained popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s with a number of successful singles drawn from various albums. The group consisted of lead vocalist, lead guitarist, and primary songwriter John Fogerty, his brother and rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. Their musical style encompassed country rock and swamp rock genres. Despite their San Francisco Bay Area origins, they positioned themselves as Southern rock stylists, singing about bayous, the Mississippi River, catfish, and other popular elements of Southern iconography.

Concrete Sun is a five-piece band from Novi Sad, Serbia. “Southern sludge ‘n’ grunge” is probably the closest you can get in an attempt to put us into a genre, but there’s a lot more to the story than just that. Our music is a blend of southern rock, blues, stoner, groove, sludge and grunge, characterized by bluesy melodies, sharp vocals and heavy riffage.

We play rock and roll music. Loud, Angry, Drunken rock and roll. Being from Florida, where tons of Southern Rock bands came from, we have southern music in our hearts. The details about how we met and who we've played with and all of that bullshit isn't important. It's music, you listen to it. So listen to it. Come see it played live.

They had a number of successful albums during the 1970s and early 1980s, including Strikes (1979), Tomcattin' (1980) and Marauder (1981). Drive-By Truckers are an alternative country/Southern rock band based in Athens, Georgia, though three out of six members (Patterson Hood , Mike Cooley, and Shonna Tucker) are originally from The Shoals region of Northern Alabama, and the band strongly identifies with Alabama. Their music uses three guitars as well as bass, drums, and now keyboards. Like many alternative country acts, the Drive-By Truckers record in analog (using 2 inch tape). However, unlike the majority of their contemporaries, the Drive-By Truckers have consistently pushed their labels to also release the band's records in a vinyl format.

You guys like Pantera? Crowbar? Superjoint Ritual? Cool deal, cuz your gonna hear some more dirty south metal. These guys are from Ashville, North Carolina, (and hey its NOT some screamo deathcore!) rockin' from my backyard. The EP is fairly short, but its a grand display of the band's potential. If you like it check out their earlier full-length debut Of Mountains and Moonshine. Great stuff, and a great band to support.

“We're bringing art back to music and rock back to rock n' roll. We're putting the Devil in a sweet red dress and heels made for cloven hooves and makin' God dance with him until they put their differences aside and make sweet, blasphemous love in plain sight. We know what the people need even if they don't want it yet.”
Yep, that's right folks. WH Monks is at it again. When Gay Paris formed a year ago, they were telling anyone in earshot that that they were too sweet for the Devil to lick and too damn hot for God to dance to. Having insulted both ends of the divine spectrum, they've only got themselves to thank for the wild ride that they've been on. From fire in the south to floods in the north, the irrepressible foursome has been shaking their collective derriere in the face of decency all over the countryside (and doing a damn good job of it if you believe what people are saying).
“If Sabbath was injected like cortisone into Tom Waits' rump then Gay Paris is what he would barf!” Don't let the name fool you, this is a rockin album and that quote sums it up nicely.

Black Label Society's "The Song Remains Not The Same" is due on May 10 via Entertainment One Music, the offering features unplugged versions of material from Black Label Society's latest album, "Order Of The Black", as well as additional material recorded during the "Order Of The Black" sessions. "The Song Remains Not The Same" was conceived, created and compiled by BLS mainman Zakk Wylde himself and the title is, of course, a nod to one of Wylde's favorite bands, Led Zeppelin.

Graveyard BBQ is a dirtcore band formed in Waltham, Massachusetts in summer 2003. They quickly rose to fame when they took victory in the "Be a Guitar Hero" national contest, and thus their song "Cheat on the Church" was featured in the soundtrack of the PlayStation 2 game Guitar Hero. Previously they had gained some popularity after being chosen by WAAF to appear on their Miss Mantown DVD in 2006 with their songs "BBQ Nation" and "BBQ Girl", both from their debut album Graveyard BBQ Greatest Hits Volume One, which was released in 2005. Since then they have been active in competing in various contests, including the BoDog Music Battle of the Bands in Boston.Their style is proclaimed as unique by both the fans and the members who call it "Old school delta blues, penetrated by monstrous guitar riffs, thunderous bass and drums, electrifying slide-guitar, gritty moonshine vocals, rockabilly/hellbilly grease, fronted by a rebel attitude..." This original formula they have called "dirtcore," thus creating a new metal genre. In addition to Heavy Metal, the band also claims influences from southern rock and psychobilly. After the release of Greatest Hits Volume 1, their vocalist "The Rev" left the band. They recruited a new singer by the name of Howlin' Jack Boone for Greatest Hits Volume 2.

The Legendary Shack Shakers (originally Those or Th' ) are an American punk blues band. They are inspired by punk, Texas polka, Delta blues, rockabilly, gothic rock, and other traditional Southern music genres, formed in Paducah, Kentucky in the mid 1990's. The band originally had a more traditional rockabilly sound, but later moved away from this and now relies more on its rock and hillbilly influences. Founding member Col. J.D. Wilkes is the band's vocalist and also plays the harmonica. Musical maverick JoeBuck joined the band in the early 21st Century and played all the upright bass, guitars, and drums on the group's 2003 release, Cockadoodledon't. Wilkes is noted for his wild stage antics, which have been compared to those of Iggy Pop, David Byrne, and Jerry Lee Lewis. JoeBuck left the band in late 2003 and began touring and recording with Hank Williams III. Duane Denison, member of recently reformed The Jesus Lizard (and formerly Hank Williams III) currently plays guitar for the band.

Formed in Athens, GA, in 1999 by singer Curtis Brown and drummer Scott Nutt, Bad Wizard soon migrated north to New York City, where they would eventually add guitarist Eddie Lynch and bassist Marc Tanner to their lineup. Boasting a high-energy hard rock sound combining AC/DC’s bombast and the MC5’s manic hyperactivity with traces of Southern rock, the band’s electrifying debut album, Free and Easy, was released by independent Tee Pee Records in 2001.
