Elder`s debut was notable not just because it was oh so very good but because the three players were oh so very young. Unless you saw them live, you`d never guess that the intricate and evolved arrangements on Elder were the work of a group not old enough to drink legally.
Now that they`re able to make use of complimentary drink tickets, what`s changed? Elder`s sophomore release has the same flair for composition, but with the added bonus of having gelled more as a band. The difference is that the group has pulled away from an overt doom sound and has incorporated more psychedelic rock, ala Colour Haze and 35007.

Weird owl sounds like a combination of Neil Young & Crazy Horse’s garage rock, Built to Spill, and a bit of Sabbath mixed in. They play long spaced out songs with crunchy distorted guitar.

Dead Meadow is an American hard rock band that formed in Washington, D.C. in 1998. Currently comprising vocalist and guitarist Jason Simon, bassist Steve Kille and drummer Mark Laughlin, the band has released five studio albums and one live album.The band started as Jason Simon on vocals and guitar, Steve Kille on bass, and Mark Laughlin on drums. They began to combine 70s hard rock and 60s psychedelic rock with themes from authors such as J. R. R. Tolkien and H. P. Lovecraft.

Scandinavian Friends is a tribute to Roky Erickson and contains scandinavian acts like The Cheaters, Witchcraft, Baby Woodrose, The Hellacopters, On Trial, Backstreet Girls, We, Madrugada and others doing their favourite song. Roky Erickson is an American singer, songwriter, harmonica player and guitarist from Texas. He was a founding member of the 13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS and pioneer of the psychedelic rock genre. Erickson is one of rock and roll’s most famous cult figures, perhaps as well-known for his mental illness – and his subsequent recovery after decades of erratic behavior – as for his musical talents.

Formed by frontman Lorenzo in late 2001, Baby Woodrose started out as a side project to the psychedelic stoner group On Trial, which since the early 90’s had released intoxicating drug-induced rock music that turned its users into sheer liquid. One album on Germany’s SPV label and several for the UK-based Delerium/Molten Records saw the band tour vigorously in Europe, but one day Lorenzo got tired of sitting behind the drums, so he embarked on a solo project he decided to call Baby Woodrose (named after the Hawaiian flower).

Dragontears is a side project of the stoner rock based group Baby Woodrose from Denmark. A recording only band headed by guitarist Lorenzo Woodrose which is quite far away from the usual heavy rock style here. Enlarged by members of the band On Trial they recorded their debut during one week between Christmas and New Years Eve in 2005 at the Black Tornado studio in Copenhagen. This album named '2000 Micrograms From Home' was offered in 2007 by Bad Afro Records and was originally concipated as a vinyl release only. Six cuts are included deriving from improvised jam sessions deep in hallucinatory psychedelia.

If you believe that "First Band From Outer Space" really is what the name says it is, then we'll tell you this story. We landed here on earth in the year 2002 and our base is stationed in Gothenburg, Sweden. The reason we came here is because we want to play rock music. Since we were unable to create sounds in the cold void of outer space, earth seamed like a good place to go. Our rock n' roll sensor controls locked on a part of earth called Scandinavia. The machine couldn't pinpoint any specific location for our rockin' to take place so we had to choose one ourselves. When we first landed and asked around, everyone suggested the town Gothenburg on the west-coast of Sweden. The word is that the town is famous for it's original sound of music and high regards for rock n' roll. Gothenburg became our natural choice.

Grandloom is
a Psychedelic/Stoner rock band from Cottbus, Germany. Their sound is self-described as a mix of Stoner, Psychedelic, Space, blues, and seventies hard rock! Influenced by 70's psych and modern stoner bands these guys play a great mixture of bang your head riffs to mind bending psychedelic solos.

Abuse, the fourth full length effort by Italian instrumental heavy psych hypno band Ex, marks a great leap forward in the evolution of their sound. What initially was characterized as "simply" psychedelic or acid rock has now developed to some kind of cinematic desert hypno sound where the band no longer is afraid to use gloomy and intense harmonies.
Eugenio Di Giacomantonio is the man behind the band. Ex went into the studio during 2010-2011 with the intention to do a recording of nine songs he had written since the release of his last same title album. It later turned out that a whole year would pass before he returned to the world outside with what people have heard Ex himself describes as his «Ennio Morricone scores meet Yawning Man». Ex played all guitars, basses, organ, violin and samples; drums and some bass lines were played by friends and special guests. As hard record as it is do describe, as easy it is to love. Enjoy the sonic monstruo!

Celtic Pink Floyd is a project devoted to the arrangement of classic Pink Floyd songs with a Celtic rock twist. Traditional instruments such as; uilleann pipes, fiddle, tin whistle, accordion, banjo, dulcimer, bodhrán, mandolin, and bones are utilized, as well as contemporary vocals, guitars, bass and drums. Started simply as a "crazy, but just may work" idea, Celtic Pink Floyd has some amazing vocalists and musicians contributing their expertise to this twelve-track CD. Arrangers, producers and musicians, Damon Stout & Brian Stout are the guilty parties behind the madness, all while working in conjunction with producer Michael Vail Blum to form a hybrid of traditional Celtic music combined with classic rock. A portion of the CD’s proceeds will be donated to the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.

"You get all that you could want from this type of music: anthemic, groovy, hard rocking psychedelic tunes, with wah-wah and fuzz guitar, heavy organ sounds, husky and heavily accented vocals (reminding me just a little of those of Nico), great guitar solos, acid flashbacks… okay, maybe not the acid flashbacks, but everything else is there for you in spades. Skyron Orchestra do manage to produce their own sound, which is perhaps on the slightly heavier side of psych rock (more Velvet Underground, Hendrix, Sabbath and Vanilla Fudge, with some of the contemporary heaviness of Orange Goblin and Soundgarden, and maybe even some Goth rock tendencies on display), and the band produce some great musical interplay (with Tomas Modig coming across as a particularly fine guitarist) as part of a series of catchy and very atmospheric rock songs."Epilepticgibbon

This 2003 formed Swedish heavy rock/doom styled band took their name from Pentagram’s song Burning Savior. Burning Saviours’ 1970’s vintage sounded proto-doom is guided by the names like Pentagram, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. Their self titled debut album was released in 2005 followed by Hundus a year later. Their third and final album Nymphs & Weavers came out in 2007; the band split up in 2008.

Boar was formed in late 2009 and started at first as a power trio but soon fourth member joined in boars live setup to handle all effects and second guitar. Boar is from Oulu, Finland.
"Our goal is to make classic fuzzed out riffs with sludge style vocals and occasionally sink in psychedelia and little bit mellower parts with clean vocals"
This is another band submission, there really must be something in that Finnish water because I cant think of a band to come from there I dont like. These guys are just starting out and yet they still sound like a major band. Hopefully the future is bright for Boar.
