Germanic warriors Die Apokalyptischen Reiter by request. folk/viking metal with twinges of death that should satisfy the need for some epic music. Production is top notch here, so its not really my bed, but then again that doesn't mean that one should dismiss this album. Its bound to find lovers and haters out there but try it out and support the bands!

Moonsorrow is a pagan metal band formed in Helsinki, Finland, in 1995. Musically, the band incorporates elements of black metal and folk metal in their sound. The band call their sound "epic heathen metal"
and try to distance themselves from the term "Viking metal" as much as possible, as the vast majority of their lyrics do not concern Vikings, since they are Finnish, not Norse.
So I just noticed, posting this, that all of my album names and track titles are in English, even though the lyrics are not. I'm not really sure that happened, but you're going to have to deal.

Ok folks, as you may have noticed I have been absent from Angrychairs recently. This is due in part to work dominating my life, but also to this mega-mega-post I had planned. It took me days to get all the albums, and days more to organize them all with correct titles and bands, but I have done it! 75 albums of nothing but metal covers! But I cannot take all the credit, someone somewhere complied these albums - under the moniker of Evil Ultimate Metal Covers - and for that I am immensely grateful.
These 75 discs are filled with bands from all metal genres covering songs from classic metal bands, and several un-metal bands, now with a metal twist. I already had a bunch of these covers (nowhere close to the 1240 tracks in this collection), so I'm sure many of these will be repeats for some of you out there. I have never heard of a lot of the songs being covered, and even less of the bands covering these songs, but I am intrigued with the entire thing.
There is no real album artwork for these albums (being unofficial compilations), but if you google 'Evil Ultimate Metal Covers' you can find different sites with different album artwork created. Some of it is kind of neat.
Enjoy!

So keep me informed to any mis-linked stuff.

Jake has already posted the latest Kiuas album, Lustdriven,
HERE. But I figured I'd get them all up here.
Kiuas is a heavy metal band from Espoo, Finland. Their music has influences from power metal, folk metal and different styles of extreme metal. Influences from progressive metal can also be heard in some songs. The band has had a steady line-up ever since they formed.
I really like these guys' style of mixing the power and thrash and the splash of folk that is in several of the songs. Spirit of Ukko is amazing, as is The New Dark Age. Reformation is the average album in the group - but it's still worth a listen - and I haven't listened to Lustdriven yet.
I am really surprised how many of my 'metal' friends have never heard of Kiuas, if that's true for others, I hope to be the one to bring you this amazing band.
The Spirit of Ukko - 2005
Reformation - 2006
The New Dark Age - 2008
