What the Fuck, Doom?
Posted by admin on Saturday, August 16, 2008

I've been listening to a lot of Doom lately, and I know several of these posts have shown up in the wake of homies flaugin-ass moves. Although, this wouldn't be the first for Doom, sending out some fake-ass motherfucker to front and pose and him -- but why? I still don't get it. Not at all. Shit, I do my thing as a drum and bass DJ, and I love to rock a crowd. Why the fuck is this guy fakin' on the funk, when he know his shit is nice? Why?
I just don't fucking get it. Fix up motherfucker, cats wanna see you live.

Kidz In The Hall // Double O In Stable Condition
Posted by admin on Wednesday, July 30, 2008

Won't be a first or a last with club bouncers. Ridiculous. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
"Double 0 of Kidz In The Hall badly assaulted by security after performance; Management issues statement"
Double O from the hip hop group Kidz In The Hall was assaulted by several bouncers early Saturday morning, July 26, while inside a nightclub in Tempe, AZ following a Kidz In The Hall performance. Group member and friend Naledge, who did not witness the assault on Double O, was arrested outside of the club. Naledge's attempt to get medical assistance for Double O was misconstrued as a hinderence to the investigation. Reports that no injuries were sustained are false as Double O was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries from the excessive force used by club security. On Sunday morning Double O underwent surgery for one of his injuries. He is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.
In the last 2 years, Kidz In The Hall have traveled to over 10 countries, have done 200+ shows and never before been involved in any altercation, big or small, with club or concert security, or police officers.

Soulja Boy vs [ Insert Emcee Here ]
Posted by admin on Thursday, July 3, 2008

I found a great excerpt that nails my sentiments exactly on this whole mess, courtesy of Method Man via HipHopDX:
“Ice-T is an OG he don’t need to be even addressing nothing like that but he felt the need to address it for the love of Hip Hop and all that and I respect that. But him being the status that he’s at he shouldn’t be addressing someone like Soulja Boy – nor should Snoop Dogg,” he said. “But (Soulja Boy) is out there like that. If he wasn’t put out there like he was the truth I don’t think anyone would have a problem with him like that. Because lyrically he’s not the truth that’s no secret.”Swap out Ice-T with Snoop Dogg, with GZA with anyone really. Point is (and the real truth) is that Soulja Boy obviously does have pull with the younger demo, but also stands to gain from taking stabs at all these pioneers.
Sources, substance, significance.
Shit, when someone can produce an Ice-T live performance pre-dating Soulja Boy's birth, that says it all. A million ringtone downloads is nice, but let's be real.
Will Soulja Boy even be relevant 12 months from now?
Ask yourself, on a cold day in Chicago, a year from now, will anyone give a fuck?

Wu Meltdown Continues
Posted by admin on Monday, January 28, 2008
What the fuck is going on at WTC HQ?
Is this all fresh, or years of festering coming to a head?
Wu needs to fix up.
Props to E at Boo Goo Doo for the heads up.
Ghost Gettin' His Press On

Check that shit.
Anyway, just came up on this interview with Rhapsody where he drops some pretty sharp responses on various topics. From his reason for coming hard on The Big Doe Rehab, to the situations with Superb and the RZA. I've been casually reading some of the other write-ups about the Wu meltdown, and I wasn't really trying to fuck with it, but this one caught my attention. He throws some pretty pointed verbal lashings.
You say 8 Diagrams? He says "that shit is wack."
Oh, and Ghost vs RZA in court? Say what?

South Beach Club Promoter Spreading HIV
Posted by admin on Saturday, October 6, 2007

I caught this over on HiphopDX and am passing the info along to my locals:
Miami Beach police are asking women who had unprotected sex (intercourse and/or oral) with a popular club promoter come forward - 22-year old Elidor Kersaint is HIV positive and knowingly spread the disease to his sex partners.
According to the Miami Beach Police Department, one 20-year-old woman has already told Miami Beach police she has had sex with Kersaint on two occasions and he never told her he had HIV. Police fear there may be other women who had sex with him and are not aware that he was HIV positive. Miami Beach police are urging anyone who had a relationship with Kersaint to see a doctor and then contact police.
Elidor Kersaint is well-known on the South Beach party scene. On his MySpace page, there are dozens of pictures of him posing with celebrities, as well as countless pictures of him with half naked women. Kersaint gained his popularity by promoting events for popular and exclusive clubs such as Opium, Prive, and Mansion. Representatives from the Opium Group (which own all three aforementioned nightclubs) say Kersaint was not an employee, but rather, may have worked with any number of third party vendors. "I can unequivocally confirm that this individual is not an employee of the Opium Group," said Opium Group representative Vanessa Menkes in a written statement to CBS4.

Dilla Lives Forever + MF Doom
Posted by admin on Thursday, September 27, 2007
The Abstract steps into this one like a certified pro, compliments the track like only a true veteran could. He just has a way of placing his rhymes around this absolutely hype beat. Talib's flow is alright on this one, but I think he sounded better on Testify with Styles P.
Speaking of Lightworks, you can expect an additional version to surface, with MF Doom laying down a verse (or several). I'm not going to expand on the whole lip sync and no shows aspect of what's been going down with him, but there is also a rumor of hospitals and heart conditions--and that's no joke.
This version (and I believe Doom's re-rub) will be on Peanut Butter Wolf's forthcoming compilation for NBA 2k8, B-Ball Zombie War, out October 2nd. Styles P's Time Is Money
Large large, huge ups to the great folks at AttorneySt.

I got another for y'all, not right now right now, but later later.
