Ok I'm going to mix it up a bit. Some of you likes my Parliament and Funkadelic post, and seeing as I have been moving into punk (as per requests), I am making the next step: folk punk.
Flogging Molly is one of my favorite bands, they play celtic punk - that is punk rock with traditional instruments and themes. Most of their songs are very quick and lively, and as we've already ascertained, having nothing but metal makes us dull at parties. Just listen to them, you will be impressed, I have gotten several of my friends hooked on this group (read: my non metal friends), as it reaches a much wider audience. Give it a try, if you hate it then delete it and no harm, no foul. But you might enjoy it, and that would open you up to a whole new genre of music.
I'm sure I'll get more folk punk (with a heavy tipping towards the 'folk' kind, it is my heritage) out here, so stay tuned!
