Daniel Lioneye is a side project band from the popular Finnish group HIM. Musically, the band produces hard rock/sleaze rock with blues-based guitar solos throughout. The band's most commonly used name is Daniel Lioneye, which is the alias of lead singer and guitarist Mikko Viljami "Linde" Lindström; however, the band has also been known as Daniel Lioneye and the Rollers and Daniel Lioneye and the Blues Explosion.
Linde has confirmed during an interview with His Infernal Magazine that the new Daniel Lioneye album is to be very different and will feature fellow HIM band member Burton on keyboards, his close friend Bolton on drums and himself on bass, guitar and vocals. Linde stated Mige helped write some of the lyrics to the songs.The album will be mixed and produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa. Linde also states the reason for continuing with Daniel Lioneye after so long was because he has had a lot going on in his personal life and the new album is a "Healthy way to let it all out"
The first album used to be one of my favorites, its great stoner blues stuff, when I head Vol II tho... yikes. It sounds like a totally different band from a different part of the world. Highly doubt most people will like both the albums, its probably one or the other.
