Worship Ludachrist

Posted by admin on Friday, October 5, 2007

From the demented minds of Evol Intent's own Knick and co-conspirator Ewun comes the ridiculous side project known as Ludachrist. Holy crap, is this first thing that came to mind when I first heard this. It's an absolute mind fuck in a mash-up styleee. It's crunk, ghetto, hype, bangin', dope, innovative, and any other creative adjectives you can think of. They just took the mash-up to some next shit.

It's that good.

Check the shit out, I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's tight work. Just when you think they took it there, they switch it up on you and take it somewhere else.

This would be great for a listening party somewhere if it wasn't live. It'd bust the roof off. No question this is going on rotation in the vehiculars. Absolute madness.

Funkstorung Throwback

Posted by admin on Monday, September 10, 2007

I was listening to Funkstorung's Additional Productions CD earlier, one of two remix CDs they released in their 10 year, five album run. From the second I heard Ol Dirty Bastard come in, it was on.

"yo, yo, bring the... yo... lemme just practice an' shit..."

So forward thinking for the late 90s, that this stuff still sounds as fresh today as it did then. Razor sharp programming. Watch out for that vicious second break when the RZA comes in. While I know Michael Fakesch and Christian de Luca are both doing solo projects since their split in 2006, I haven't heard any of it, yet. Although, for you fans, Funkstorung.com will serve as a retrospective look at all things Funkstorung.

If you forgot how good they were, here you are. If you didn't know how good they were, surprise, enjoy.

Wu-Tang Clan - Reunited (Reunixed by Funkstorung)
East Flat Bush Project - Tried By 12 (Funkstorung Remix)

And for good measure, here's a little something from 8 Diagrams finally set to be released on Nov 13th.

Wu-Tang Clan - Watch Your Mouth

I got love for MIDI horns... what?

Don't hate. Clan in the front, Reunite Em.
