Cash Crew - Microphone Maniac

Cash Crew's debut on vinyl lab records was relegated to the b-side of a release twinned with 'Mission Impossible' by The Force. Both tracks are great but the trio from Ladbroke Grove just edge it for me. As you can see I copped the white label, dunno who wrote on it but the a-side states The Force's track as 'The Mission' rather than the official title. With a vocal, instrumental and acapella version for each cut this is, for once, a 'rare' offering that's actually pretty good.

I hope this'll do for you Russ. It's from the limited UK double groove 10" single with 'I Can't Live Without My Radio' on the flip. 'Jack The Ripper' is excellent, haven't heard that in a while now.

I always wanted this record so I felt had to buy a copy of this recent bootleg seeing as it was never released officially in 1987. A few others popped up at the same time, 'Think' and 'Atom' by main source, 'Top Billin'' by Audio Two, 'Gucci Time', (which is split into two parts which must be annoying) and best of all 'Let The Homicides Begin' by Top Priority. I heard this first on a US Red Alert radio show tape which is when the hunt began but it was obviously just a demo and only came out on one of Red Alert's compilation LPs and some Japanese only freebie 7" or summat, don't know the full story only that even though the beat does sound a little messy and experimental maybe, it's still a dope cut and reminiscent of the so called 'golden' era and I love it. Happy days.
