Peter Lidén and Jens Löwius used to share a small apartment in Lund around 1997, to be honest, Peter rented Jens wardrobe. (A small amount of money was involved.) A late night when they watched the great movie "Psychout" with Jack Nicholson among others, they had a vision. One of the characters had made a painting where you could spot the words: "God Grows His Own" They both agreed rapidly that this must be the best band name ever, especially if you were going to play hard/groovy/psychedelic rock. A week later they asked their good friends Martin Johansson and Johan Hellsten what they thought about the idea of forming a great band called "God Grows His Own".
