It's refreshing to hear producers and groups try something new, something different that is a long-shot from the structured, predictable, and samey nature of most contemporary music. I listen to a lot of vintage funk and soul, and I've always held the belief that musically-speaking, those individuals had more true funk and soul in 4 bars than most modern compositions have in 3 and a half minutes.
