I was writing reviews for PlayMusicMagazine when I stumbled across a re-issue series coming from the mighty mighty Basement label. It's only a 4-track EP re-release, but needless to say, when I saw The Sentinel, Peshay, Source Direct, and Justice on there; I had to make it my Pick of the Month for September. I always have a love for the old school, but as is the nature of drum and bass, it's also about what's next. Now with drum and bass and most labels in the genre hitting 15 years, moving forward is just as important as analyzing history... in my opinion. I've never been one to stay stuck in the past, but I believe a fair amount of thought with regard to the past is in order when planning for the future. Now that you got my IMHO on the subject, check out the business they dug up from their catalog to lead off The Masters Series.
