Amplifier are an alternative rock band from Manchester, England. The main trio forming the band are singer and guitarist Sel Balamir, bassist Neil Mahony and drummer Matt Brobin. The band have released two albums so far since its inception in 1999. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2004 by Music for Nations. Their second album, Insider was released in Europe in 2006 on the SPV label. They are currently planning to release their third album, The Octopus later this year.
As time goes on the band moves from an alternative rock with a bit of progressive a touch, into a full-fledged prog band (check out The Octopus for the full progressive rock).
