
Not to be confused with DJ Jazzy Jeff; Miree in fact sued Jive Records over the rights to the name. After the Funky 4 + 1 split, Jeff went solo and in 1985 he dropped his debut album 'On Fire' (strangely, on Jive). Jeff made a successful transition from the rhythmic party rhymes of the early school to the sharper lyricism of the burgeoning drum machine era.
