Jacknife Holiday, formed just under 12 months ago from the ashes of Strain and Displacement, have come together with a desire to create heavy, aggressive and groovy music. Tipping their collective hats to the likes of Eyehategod, Crowbar and Pantera, the band lay down Southern grooves and ferocious riffing. In the words of Download Festival’s Richard Warrell, “The band finds their form in the simpler moments, getting into the groove of tunes more with an undeniably catchy chug”
This self-released EP, which channels the spirit of NOLA, features 3 tracks of no-nonsense heaviness, trimmed of all fat and excess, that gets straight to the point. In the first week of its launch, the EP received over 1000 downloads, which is no mean feat for a new and unsigned band.
Having already shared the stage with the likes of Ramesses, Charger and Volition, the band, on the back of a well-received set at this year’s Download Festival, look to carry on the momentum already gained. They have been invited to hit the road this August for 3 dates with Thunderhorse, who feature members of Raging Speedhorn, Viking Skull and Motorcity Daredevils amongst their ranks.
