Well, 2009 has pumped out a lot of metal albums. The big name bands usualy sucked and the underground bands thrived and got brought to the light. The choices for the top 10 was a hard choice because I dug a lot of this years albums. This whole idea started when Jake told me that we were all going to make a top 10 list becuase we all have different taste in music and it would be cool to compare so without hesitation here is my list of top 2009 albums.
10. The Severed Inception - Inevitable End
This album has a lot of power and perception to it, and is worth a good listen or two.

9. Crack The Skye - Mastodon
We all know it's no 'Leviathan' or 'Blood Mountin' but it's still a decent album. Don't get turned off by the site of their long tracks. This album has taken another approach by Mastodon and it's more technical than their other albums.

8. Dialbolical Figures - Graveworm
When I got this album I wasn't expected too much, but I was wrong this album is quite good in my opinion but that may just be my opinion. The album cover is also one of my favourite album covers ever.

7. Wormwood - Marduk
Marduk is the first black metal band I've ever heard. The first time I heard them I was a little bit scared and wondered why anyone would have a band like this, over time I came to accept and eventually like black metal.

6. Sex, Drugs & Deathmetal - Waco Jesus
Ah yes Waco Jesus, I liked 'The Destruction Of Commercial Scum' quite a bit and I am still undecided about what album is better. But hey it's Waco Jesus !

5. The Great Depression - Trigger The Bloodshed
Some good old death metal that everyone should appreciate.

4. Carving Out The Eyes Of God - Goatwhore
This album is very dark, probley Goatwhores best and serves some good death metal. The lyrics are deep and disturbed, the song 'To Mourn And Forever Wander Through Forgotten Doorways' is my favourite track off the album and the lyrics in that song have to be my favourite lyrics of all time, next to 'Raped By Elephants' - Torsofuck but that's a different story altogether, litterally.

3. Agorapocalypse - Agoraphobic Nosebleed
Agorapocalypse is a normal album after they crammed 100+ tracks on a thing called 'Bestial Machinery'. The big surprise is that Agorapocalypse is the most purely musical thing Agoraphobic Nosebleed has ever recorded. This album is most likely going to throw off fans that were accustomed to 20 second tracks that made it feel like your head is stuck in a giant vice grip.

2. Oracles - Fleshgod Apocalypse
This should be the metal album of the year and probley is for many people out there. But I have another album on my mind that surpasses this album on my list.

1. Lust In Space - Gwar
That's right folks. I love this album, every track off it has 90+ plays and still rising. There's something about that album that gave me an urge to play it over and over and over again. It's like ecstacy to the ears.
