Two Kings In A Cipher - From Pyramids To Projects

1991, Bahia Records

R-328265-1143914398The members of Two Kings were Amen Ra and D-Dot before they turned Puffy's 90's go to producers. Famously they cooked up the 'Hypnotize' beat for Biggie.

This is a cool little album. Listening to it right now, it sounds very New York. I'm sure Diddy was attracted to the clean and crisp breaks these guys crafted so well. The rhymes are tight, not Rakim tight, but they are on point with that conscious Lakim Shabazz/King Sun Fex rockin' tip.
