With the Drum and Bass genre crossing the 15 year mark, many of those labels that have been in place since its inception have moved into the reissue phase, along with making progressive strides developing new music and artists. Not only looking back at their rich catalogs and re-releasing some of their most notable moments, but also remastering and offering them in alternative formats, as technology dictates. Either you're seeing the label selling back catalog as digital releases, traditional vinyl reissues, or compilation CD sets. This time, it's V Recordings' turn to tap into your most nostalgic moments or educate you about something you missed.
From the V vaults comes a 2CD set compiled by Bristol pioneer Krust, and V label head Jumping Jack Frost. Just by a look at the tracklist, I can assure you that they've assembled a quality package of some of the label's finest moments from some of their bastion artists. If you know these, prepare for a forceful yoke into the past. If you don't know them, it's definitely worth a listen, expose yourself to a slice of the 90s underground. Quality music absolutely stands the test of time, and the music on this set has certainly done that. Hearing some of these beats again gives me the chills, or just get me rowdy with excitement. It's great music from a great era.
