On the heels of the full release of Blue Magic comes Roc Boys, the second single from Jay-Z's, American Gangster. I was pretty surprised to see Diddy at the head of the production team that put this one together.
However, when you read a little bit more about The Hitmen, the visionaries behind the name and productions to their credit; it all makes sense. Chucky Thompson, for one, who with the likes of D-Dot, Stevie J, and Mario Winans have been responsible for some of the greatest moments in music during the last 15 years. Nuff said.
The Hitmen have 5 tracks on the forthcoming and tenth studio album for Jay, Just Blaze puts down two and Jermaine Dupri has one (which I've heard is supposed to be pretty good in a you're not expecting to hear Dupri like this kind of way).
You gotta love the funk and soul that just gets all over everything on this one. The flow is Jay, no question (though I personally think the wordplay on Blue Magic was much better), but that beat is absolutely killin' it. Those horns... infectious. I'm in it, all about it. The beat makes the track.
