Green Day is an American punk rock band formed in 1987. The band has consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool for the majority of its existence.
Another of the influential punk revival movement of the 90s, Green Day gathered the most success (I think). While I'm sure everyone has heard of them, some of their earlier works get left out as far as recognition. I like their 'true punk' days, before the American Idiot politics. Don't get me wrong when American Idiot came out I was one of the millions of lemmings that listened repeatedly to it, but looking back (especially after the crap 21st Century Breakdown) it is the golden age of their punk that I like
