Ancestors is a five-piece psychedelic/progressive rock/doom metal ensemble residing in Los Angeles.Ancestors is heavily influenced by progressive rock bands like King Crimson, Nektar, Agitation Free and Rush, psychedelic rock bands like Pink Floyd, Hawkwind and Ash Ra Tempel, heavier stoner rock and doom metal bands like Neurosis, Kyuss and Sleep. They have also tried to implement an amount of experimental music and musique concrète influence, as fans of such pioneers as Pierre Schaeffer, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Luc Ferrari.
