Aeon Aphelion were formed driven by the urge to add yet another spark to the endless pyre of doom metal. In late 2005 George Xenikoudakis (guitar) and Fanis Markonis (voice) decide to revive their 90ies band (then known as Dreamscape), determined to make it work. Along with lead guitarist Chris Spiliopoulos, they start song writing sessions, holding rehearsals with the help of old friend Akis 'Lethe' Kapranos. The band finds its first stable line-up by June 2007 with the addition of Johnnie Dalamagas (ex Media Vox) on bass guitar and original Dreamscape drummer George Touchatzidis.
The quintet rehearses with a new vigour and strength towards a heavier and tighter sound. In May 2008 the band creates their myspace site uploading rehearsal tracks ever since. Some of these rehearsal tracks feature their friend, lead guitarist Panos Koutsombogeras (Musicless, Seeds Of Hope) who was filling in for a couple of jams when Chris was unable to play due to an arm injury in May 2008.
In September 2008, John Vaskos (ex Add The River, Damon Systema) becomes the band’s new drummer, bringing his smooth and accurate drumming to further enhance the band’s vibe. In January 2009 Aeon Aphelion parts ways with Chris. Nevertheless, the four others soldier on rehearsing and song writing until May when the band finds exactly the kind of guitarist they needed in Alex Koutsis (ex Kerveros). The band, tighter and more inspired than ever, record their eponymous 5-song EP from summer through autumn 2009. Aeon Aphelion continue writing fresh material towards a totally individual sound. realeditorbest profile toolsrealeditorbest profile tools
